M2M is the discipline of remote monitoring and controlling equipment every moment of the day anywhere in the world by using wired (e.g. internet) or wireless (e.g. GSM/GPRS/UMTS) networks. M2Mstands for Machine-to-Machine, Man-to-Machine or Machine-to-Man. Monitoring and control can be done automatically (Machine-to-Machine) or manually (Man-to-Machine, Machine-to-Man).
